Despite the "insta-love," this book was a pretty interesting and dark read.
I like dark reads, and I really did sympathize with Kori's character. The torture she'd endured...Hell, I don't blame her for not feeling herself.
If you're willing to ignore how quickly Kori and Ian supposedly fall in love, you'll probably find this to be an entertaining read. The characterization was alright but not particularly believable, and the plot did have layers but was not particularly complex.
I might read the third companion novel, but when it does come out, I won't be in any rush. Still, this was a relatively good novel - it just wasn't spectacular for me.
