Though a fairly enjoyable read, I found Someone Else's Life
to be a bit too ambitious. There was a lot going on with an almost soap-opera-like plot, and while the characters were fairly well-developed (I particularly loved Jack and Rosie), they generally lacked that special quality that would have made them more three-dimensional. Though this was just a personal pet peeve, I found I could not stand Holly for most of the book. Though I never rooted against her or anything, I just didn't enjoy reading her narration. Also, I think perhaps third person narration would have worked better for this novel, rather than having three different first-person narrators.
